All the following storyboards on this page I personally hand-drew in Storyboard Pro and occasionally Adobe Photoshop, however I have also directed storyboard artists on hundreds of projects for the last 5+ years in numerous professional roles. Storyboarding is one of the most vital parts of any video or animation production. It's more than just a planning tool, it's the visual foundation of the entire project. A well-developed storyboard helps define the pacing, composition, and flow of a piece before a single frame is animated or filmed.
I firmly believe that the more detail you can work out in the storyboard phase, the fewer problems, questions, and back-steps you may face later in production. By refining and making key decisions early, I've been able to eliminate costly backtracking and on 2D, 3D, and live action productions.
Crystal Geyser Concepts & Photo Mashups | Explainly PITCH Storyboard

I ideated, sketched, Photoshop edited, and After Effects animated these rough motion graphic storyboards and photo collages for Crystal Geyser, which won us the project. Their initial request was to show 5 new crisp, sparkling water flavors with a clean, authentic promo focusing on the bottle as the hero and the flavors as the co-stars.
So, I focused my compositions on the product moving and splashing in imaginative ways, with a grounding use case moment in the outro.
I also used animated bold graphic overlays over test footage to create a quick-cuts style live action piece, for a real-world option.
Both concepts had to feel elevated, while still keeping socials in mind for the video to work when watched with the sound off. This led to both samples displaying clear typography and simple, brand-forward visuals. The subsequent video my team produced for Crystal Geyser was just as dynamic and refreshing as my original concepts!

Eats | Storyboard Animatic
A progression of the joys and adventures of life, seen through the lens of enjoying good eats. The top-down lens from above the head of the 'main character' or viewer stays consistent throughout the short, to clearly show a sense of time and progression through childhood and into both the quiet and brighter periods of adulthood.
Personally written and drawn in Storyboard Pro.

New Hasbro Furby Ad | Explainly PITCH Storyboard
I wrote, storyboarded, and verbally pitched this new Furby concept storyboard to Hasbro, as Senior Creative Producer & Designer at Explainly. When my team and I saw Hasbro was accepting pitched for a bold, colorful, fast-paced product spotlight, we were beyond excited to jump on the opportunity. This project's goal was to feature a variety of children in dynamic, location-neutral sets, bursting with personality and dancing with Furby!

The ad opens with a dramatic Furby reveal, then quickly turning the camera to a girl’s amazed reaction. The bold new logo is spotlit right away, followed by scenes of kids dancing, playing games, and exploring DJ Furby’s standout features.

From a glowing pillow fort dance party to a surprise rainbow fur jacket, I leaned into magical moments that highlight creativity and play. The spot ends with a joyful hug and a smiling parent, affirming DJ Furby as more than a toy—it’s an experience.
From Sea to Sky | Storyboard Animatic
As a scuba diver, I'm deeply drawn to sea life. When underwater, gravity releases you, time stretches and warps, and you become a quiet observer of a world that is not your own. This storyboard began as an expression of the awe of floating beside massive, graceful creatures, and the quiet humility of knowing how small you are in their realm. You can’t control the currents or the wildlife, so you have to let go and let the ocean lead.
In this short, an adventurer navigating a strange aquatic world finds that the treasure she seeks at the end of a mysterious map may be less important than the journey itself. a journey shaped by wonder, unpredictability, and the overwhelming beauty of the natural world. Personally written and drawn in Storyboard Pro.

Roco Animated Promo | Explainly Storyboard
Storyboarded, co-produced, co-animated, composited, and edited this promo for the San Francisco based documentary film distributor Roco, alongside my co-producer and co-animator Courtney Pratt at Explainly.
Roco came to us looking for a simple white-board style animated video with a hand-drawn vibe, to serve their goals and genuinely represent the educational mission of their local, independent team.

Explainly Showreel Animated Intro | SKETCHES, ART DIRECTION, PRODUCTION
To quickly show off Explainly's range of production capabilities in a variety of mediums, I ideated and directed this short introduction to the studio's 2025 showreel. Created in collaboration with vendor animators, this short but impactful introductory scene immediately demonstrates 2D animation and 3D animation, as well as homey, urban, and natural environments.

My initial rough concept sketches:

Explainly Logo Animation | SKETCHES, ART DIRECTION, PRODUCTION
With simple nods to video players and a dynamic play-button, transforming into the Explainly logo, this outro logo animation is now used at the end of all Explainly videos, and unifies all of the company's videos with it's new modern brand look and feel. I used my rough hand-drawn animated references (upper) to direct vendor artists to produce the final logo animation (lower) in multiple aspect ratios.

Welcome to Kindergarten | Storyboard Animatic
A brand new teacher is exuberant to greet her Kindergarten students after meticulously setting up her classroom. However, she is shocked to discover that Kindergarten students are seemingly impossible to wrangle.
Personally written and drawn in Storyboard Pro.
"The floor is a minefield of abstract Lego creations, broken crayons, rogue globs of glitter glue, and goldfish crackers crushed into the carpet. Tables are littered with uncapped markers and construction paper clippings. A kids-size Spiderman jacket is caught in the revolving ceiling fan. Abigail’s precise schedule of the day’s lessons and activities on the whiteboard can hardly be read behind scribbles that cover it"

Ajinomoto Biopharma | Explainly StoryboardS
Ajinomoto Biopharma provides vital healthcare products to HCPs around the world. When tasked with storyboarding several tight-budget videos for their team, I took a clean, science-focused approach to meet the needs of this educational and promotional series.

DriveSavers Data Recovery | Intro Slate Storyboard
As Creative Producer & Designer at Explainly, DriveSavers Data Recovery came to me needing a short, elevated introduction to play at the beginning of each of their hundreds of testimonial videos. By showing a variety of technical and devices and a breadth of actual client faces, I aimed to show off DriveSaver's genuine breadth of positive customer stories and device types they work with.
I created the overall concept and roughly animated multiple iterations of the storyboard, which I then provided to a team of 3D animators to create the final product. I produced and sound-designed this project, as I did while managing numerous additional DriveSavers videos and series. This introductory animation has since been used in dozens of videos, which has been especially important to elevate the production quality of many self-filmed testimonials, especially during COVID.

Darby and the Basement | Storyboard ANIMATIC
Darby is not thrilled to have been given the chore of cleaning her Uncle's dusty, spooky basement.
Drawn in Storyboard Pro, and based on a pre-provided script.

Ad Campaign Storyboard Shot List | Explainly LIVE ACTION STORYBOARD
On an extremely limited timeline, I sketched out these rough storyboards in Storyboard Pro to aid in the creation of 3 live action internal marketing pieces at Explainly. Each shot had to bear in mind cropping for multiple social aspect ratios. On the day of the film shoot, the on-set crew in LA referred to my board for framing and direction of all actions. | Read more about the production process here.

TaylorMade Golf App | eXPLAINLY CLIENT ROUGH Storyboard
TaylorMade Golf came to Explainly looking for an animated overview video discussing the different features within their TaylorMade app, aiming to highlight how users can shop the entire TaylorMade catalog, track rounds, earn loyalty points, and use accurate GPS tracking. View the full case study here.
By focusing on one main character amongst several supporting background characters, the story remained focused on the single customer’s journey from discovering, using, shopping in, and tracking scores all within the app. This character needed to be professional, well-dressed, and expressive to maximize relatability. The platform UI has also undergone simplification to increase visual clarity, while staying mostly true-to-life for product accuracy.
My rough initial thumbnails are pictured to the right.

Not only did we want to exemplify that golf often is a partner-based group activity, but I particularly prioritized harnessing the beauty of the natural environments that golf often lends itself to. I discussed numerous options with the client to boost the visual wonder of our background illustrations– from sweeping desert courses surrounded by palms and cacti to majestic alpine forests teeming with life.
Our team of artists v1 sketched storyboard is pictured to the left.
Hiveworks Mead | eXPLAINLY CLIENT ROUGH Storyboard
Hiveworks Mead is a new, unique alcoholic beverage fermented primarily from the sugars found in honey. Being relatively new on the scene, the Hiveworks team wanted a video that would help them stand out and capture the natural, refreshing nature of their products. View the full case study here.
As Creative Producer, Co-Writer, and Co-Director, I lead animators at our partner animation studio to create this mixed media promo for Hiveworks Mead, as well as different aspect ratio versions for social media.
Side-by-side of my rough storyboard sketches, with vendor storyboards in the center row including my hand-editing for client delivery, and additional vendor in-progress style frames.

Not only did we want the visual style to match the rustic yet elevated vibe of the product, but we wanted the sound to match as well. I sourced and edited numerous music options, and narrowed down a wide variety of options to create our final sound designed video.
Super Sidekick | 2D Animated Short Film ANIMATIC MASHup (2020)
This mashup animatic highlights different stages of this film, from very rough sketched storyboards, to initial animation, through final compositing. By telling this story, I aimed to convey the growth of my characters’ relationship, and make my audience laugh with fun scenarios and unique animation.
Personally written, directed, produced, and drawn in Storyboard Pro, ToonBoom Harmony, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere
